Implementing High-Impact Tutoring
Susanna Loeb from the National Student Support Accelerator shares research, best practices, and resources educators can use when implementing high-impact tutoring at their LEAs.
As schools return to in-person learning, demand for online tutoring remains high
“The type of tutoring with evidence is intensive tutoring with a consistent tutor who comes with an understanding of the students needs — based on data from direct assessments or from the school or teacher — and with curricular materials for addressing these needs,” Susanna Loeb, the director of the Annenberg Institute for School Reform at Brown University, said in an email.

Edficiency
Edficiency is an online platform that allows teachers to create "sessions" for flex time and/or before/after-school tutoring on whatever topic they'd like, limiting it to whatever groups are appropriate. Teachers can request groups of students for specific interventions or request individual students over any time period. Students can then request to see teachers for specific sessions based on their needs. Admin are able to oversee this process and also request any student see any teacher at any time.
TutorVille
TutorVille was founded in 2009 with the understanding that every student has the right to an education, and we recognize that the one-size-fits-all approach is not for everyone. TutorVille offers tutoring for PK-College, Test Prep, College Prep and a homeschool option (TV Prep).
Tutoring Survey Instruments
While research shows that high-impact tutoring programs consistently result in student learning gains, the benefits of tutoring can extend beyond academic learning. For instance, students may come to see more value in the subject, develop a connection with a caring adult, or even enjoy school more. Tutors also stand to benefit from their experiences instructing and interacting with students. Administering student and tutor surveys provides an opportunity to capture a broader scope of outcomes than test scores or grades.
