The Partnership for Student Success, the New Jersey Tutoring Corps, the National Student Support Accelerator, and the Pathways Alliance are pleased to announce the official approval of the National Guideline Standards (NGS) for Tutor Apprenticeship Programs by the U.S. Department of Labor, a crucial new resource to strengthen educator pipelines through tutoring.

Developed by a working group with feedback from high-impact tutoring and educator development leaders across the country, the Tutor NGS provides a recognized, scalable framework for states, districts, and tutoring providers to establish high-quality registered apprenticeship programs for tutors in communities nationwide. The NGS outlines key competencies that individual tutors must achieve during an apprenticeship program through on-the-job learning and related instruction or professional development. They also codify key structures and best practices for implementing quality apprenticeships.

To help expand tutor-registered apprenticeship programs, the four organizations also developed the Tutor Apprenticeship Toolkit, which was published earlier this year. This free resource provides detailed guides, templates, and actionable steps for state education agencies, school districts, tutoring providers, and other potential program sponsors to design, register, and launch their own high-quality tutor apprenticeship programs.

In this webinar, learn more about these resources and initial steps that states, districts, and tutoring providers can take to consider or implement tutor apprenticeship programs.
