Math-A-Matics Tutoring

Mission:

At Math-A-Matics Tutoring, our mission is to help students "Catch Up, Keep Up, & Get Ahead!" We provide high-quality educational support that empowers students to achieve their academic goals through high-dosage, personalized, and engaging tutoring services.

By focusing on our core philosophy to "Catch Up, Keep Up, & Get Ahead," we meet students exactly where they are academically. This approach emphasizes that growth is our priority. We identify each student's current level, address learning gaps, maintain progress alongside grade-level standards, and push them toward accelerated achievement. Every tutoring session is designed with this growth mindset at its core.

For over 12+ years, we've dedicated ourselves to closing achievement gaps through our research-based, data-driven approach. We don't just teach math, we build confidence, foster critical thinking skills, and develop problem-solving abilities that extend far beyond the classroom.

Our work specifically targets underserved populations, including multilingual learners, students with IEPs, and economically disadvantaged students. By providing these students with highly qualified tutors, culturally responsive instruction, and differentiated support, we're creating tomorrow's diverse contingent of STEM leaders by bolstering their foundational skills today.

The Math-A-Matics Tutoring program is built around our innovative, structured approach called "The Math-A-Matics Way." This proven framework drives consistent results across both in-person and virtual tutoring environments. Each tutoring session follows our research-backed lesson cycle that begins with a warm-up and review to activate prior knowledge, followed by focused direct instruction targeting specific state standards. Students then engage in guided practice with tutor support, utilizing manipulatives, visual models, and real-world applications before demonstrating their understanding through independent practice. Each session concludes with an exit ticket assessment that measures mastery and informs the next session's focus areas.`

For virtual implementation, we've adapted our approach using our live secure online platform that enables real-time collaboration through interactive whiteboards, digital manipulatives, screen sharing, photo uploads of handwritten work, and session recording for later review. The Math-A-Matics Way emphasizes personalization through diagnostic-driven planning, multilingual supports, multi-sensory approaches, and explicit strategy instruction.

Curriculum and Supplemental Resources:
The Math-A-Matics tutoring program fully aligns with school programming and state-specific standards and approved curriculum. We work closely with district partners to ensure our instruction complements and reinforces classroom learning. Our tutors utilize a combination of state-approved materials and high-quality instructional resources, supplemented by our proprietary tools.

Math-A-Matics utilizes benchmark assessment data, state assessment results, teacher formative assessments, and initial assessment data to develop Student Learning Plans (SLP) aligned to state standards. We supplement core curriculum with approved supplemental resources along with our proprietary materials

Data Collection and Driven Results:
Over 85% of our students have met standards and have closed achievement gaps utilizing the Math-A-Matics way. Our comprehensive data collection system includes:
• Initial diagnostic assessments to establish baseline performance
• Standards-aligned exit tickets to monitor daily progress
• Bi-weekly progress monitoring to track growth toward mastery
• Anecdotal session notes capturing qualitative observations
• Regular data reports shared with school partners and stakeholders

Math-A-Matics collects and analyzes this data to make informed instructional decisions, including reteaching specific standards when needed. Our method consistently yields results because it balances procedural fluency with conceptual understanding, maintaining high expectations while providing scaffolded support that develops confident, independent mathematical thinkers.
