NOW! Programs

Mission: Mission:

Our mission is simple: Global Literacy! We believe every child, adolescent, and adult--truly, every person, should be afforded the opportunity to learn to read and unlock their learning potential. We recognize that "Global Literacy" can appear to be a lofty goal, one that may take multiple lifetimes to achieve. At NOW! Programs, our passionate team approaches this vision with enthusiasm. We are committed to discovering new and impactful ways to bring the vision of global literacy to life every day.

Program Description: Program Description:

NOW! ProgramsⓇ is a provider of online, evidence-based literacy instruction designed to meet the diverse needs of K-12 students. For over a decade, we have delivered 1:1 and small-group instruction through our proprietary program, NOW! Foundations for Speech, Language, Reading, and SpellingⓇ, which is grounded in research funded by the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD). This research was rigorously vetted and ranks in the top 3% of the nation’s proposals for its proven impact on literacy development.

Our program is rooted in the Science of Reading and has been extensively tested through three NICHD-funded randomized controlled trials (RCTs). These studies affirm the program's effectiveness in improving literacy skills, particularly for students with reading challenges such as dyslexia, specific learning disabilities, and phonological processing deficits.

Key Features of NOW! ProgramsⓇ:
Flexible Online Model: Our live, interactive instruction is accessible from schools, after-school programs, homes, or community centers with high-speed internet and a school-issued device. This flexibility allows us to serve students nationwide.

Interactive, Multi-Sensory Instruction: Lessons are delivered in real-time by highly trained instructors, using an explicit, sequential, and multi-sensory approach. Students actively engage with instructional materials and participate in meaningful dialogue, ensuring an immersive learning experience.

Structured Scope and Sequence: The program builds skills progressively, ensuring mastery at each level. By focusing on foundational neurodevelopmental abilities such as memory, sensory processing, and reasoning, students are equipped to excel in phonological processing, decoding, spelling, and reading fluency.
Lasting Results: Research demonstrates that students continue to make gains for up to two years after completing the program, reflecting the program’s ability to promote neuroplasticity and long-term success.

Outcomes for Students:
Students who participate achieve measurable and lasting improvements, including:
Enhanced functional reading skills, decoding, phonetic spelling, comprehension
Strengthened auditory memory and working memory
Improved receptive and expressive language skills
Increased confidence in reading aloud and overall learning
