Tutors & Equity Focus
Our tutors are highly qualified educators and National Tutoring Association (NTA)-certified professionals who complete a rigorous multi-step hiring process involving reference checks, FBI/DOJ background screening, fingerprinting, and credential verification. Each tutor participates in comprehensive onboarding and continuous professional development focused on evidence-based instruction, culturally responsive teaching, social-emotional learning (SEL), and equitable practices. This ensures that every StudentNest instructor delivers safe, high-impact tutoring with fidelity to state and federal standards.
Over 40% of StudentNest tutors are bilingual or multilingual (Spanish, Mandarin, Arabic, Haitian Creole, Punjabi, and more). They provide instruction and family communication in multiple languages, ensuring linguistic access, cultural inclusion, and equity for English Learners and multilingual families.
