Huntington Learning Center

For nearly five decades, Huntington Learning Center has worked with schools and organizations to provide publicly funded K-12 tutoring and test prep services. Our goal is to provide the highest quality education to all students, fulfilling Huntington’s mission “to give every student the best education possible”.

We offer:

Hill Learning Center Reading Achievement Program

Hill Learning Center provides students and educators with the instruction, tools, and support they need to succeed in school, and in life. We serve students directly, and share the evidence based practices implemented in our school with educators everywhere via the Hill Learning System and educator professional development. Our signature program is HillRAP (Reading Achievement Program.) Hill Tutoring serves families with both individual tutoring and small-group classes that are built upon research, individualized instruction, and successful teaching techniques.

Early Steps

Early Steps is a first grade one-to-one tutoring model that is patterned on Reading Recovery. Early Steps employs a balanced approach to the teaching of reading, incorporating explicit instruction in phonemic awareness and phonics, as well as the reading experience activities favored by Reading Recovery. ES tutors work with students in reading new books at their instructional level, re-reading familiar texts, writing and learning problem-solving strategies that can be used to tackle difficult words.
