For instance, students may come to see more value in the subject, develop a connection with a caring adult, or even enjoy school more. Tutors also stand to benefit from their experiences instructing and interacting with students. Administering student and tutor surveys provides an opportunity to capture a broader scope of outcomes than test scores or grades.

The National Student Support Accelerator launches District Playbook to create High-Impact Tutoring Programs

The National Student Support Accelerator is releasing the High-Impact Tutoring: District Playbook (the Playbook), a downloadable online manual with detailed instructions about how to implement a high-impact tutoring program. The Playbook offers practical advice about everything from assessing what content tutoring should cover to estimating budgets to embedding tutoring in a school schedule. With checklists, suggested timelines and structured ways to tackle complex decisions such as whether districts should partner with existing tutoring organizations or build their own in-house programs, the Playbook aims to make the project of implementing high-impact tutoring less daunting and easier.

It combines video conferencing, an interactive canvas, and education tools like a graphing calculator, an equation editor, molecular bonds creator, and much more. In addition, there is a reference library with subject-specific tools, including math, physics, chemistry, business, and more. GoBoard also features a first-of-its-kind ability to text in a photo of handwritten work or textbook pages directly into a collaborative board for others in the session to then mark up in real-time.
