We provide one-to-one tutoring for adult education and high school equivalency preparation (GED/TASC/HiSET) at two Cleveland-area locations, as well as nationally in our Virtual Classroom, conducted through Zoom. Our tutors are all volunteers. Unlike other programs, tutors may work with a different student each day. Because our adult learners did not succeed in more traditional classroom settings, our program offers the ultimate flexibility.
Since 2020, Sharity Tutoring Inc. has been committed to supporting our community by providing free tutoring services to as many children as possible. On top of managing countless AP, IB, and AICE classes, the tutors at Sharity Tutoring are extremely involved in their community and are dedicated to providing academic assistance as well as guidance to students in grades K-12. By booking an appointment, individuals will receive a private virtual tutoring session completely free of cost.
Ingenify is a two sided marketplace that connects high school volunteers with kids who need free tutoring.
High school tutors from across the Central New York area register through our website and are firstly interviewed. They are then paired with a student who is in need of tutoring. We hold tutoring sessions weekly on Saturday and Sunday at morning and evening times. Parents and tutors provide feedback through our optional session review forms.
Students in K-12 are paired with high school students who excel in math and English; they meet on a fixed weekly basis, with students meeting with the same tutor each time, ensuring that the student and tutor are able to build meaningful, high-impact relationships with one another.
A new policy brief examines the research evidence behind tutoring and what design principles for tutoring have shown to be important for boosting student achievement. The report is titled Accelerating Student Learning with High-Dosage Tutoring. It’s coauthored by Dr. Carly Robinson, Dr. Matthew Kraft and Dr. Susanna Loeb of the Annenberg Institute at Brown University, as well as Dr. Beth Schueler of the School of Education and Human Development at the University of Virginia.
