Data Use: Evaluation and Improvement

In this National Student Support Accelerator webinar, we will be discussing how to evaluate data to improve your program as a whole. By developing standard routines for data review and having a clear understanding of what you would like to accomplish from reviewing your data, your program can consistently progress towards its goals and take note of what changes it should be making.

Tutored by Teachers

Frequency: TbT tutoring programs will meet for 2-4 60-minute sessions per week.

Group Size: Consistent, leveled small groups are limited to 5 students with similar academic needs.

Personnel: Small groups are led by the same Teacher Tutor for the duration of the program, allowing for relationship building and responsive instruction. All Teacher Tutors are credentialed or experienced, professional educators with extensive classroom teaching experience, related degrees, and training in culturally responsive instruction.

Learning Bridge

Learning Bridge was created to help close the educational gap between children in foster care and their peers by providing one-on-one tutoring for kids who are struggling in school. The program began in August 2020. In February 2021 the nonprofit Learning Bridge that was created to sustain and grow the program. Our target demographic is youth in foster care in Kindergarten to 12th grade in Travis, Hays and Williamson Counties. The program is unique in its focus on foster kids, providing consistent academic support and coaching geared to their needs.

Readers 2 Leaders

Research-based literacy intervention programs designed to accelerate student's reading growth through small-group and one-on-one tutoring in foundational reading skills. Primary focus is on foundational reading skills including phonemic awareness, explicit systematic phonics, fluency, and comprehension.

Children's Learning Institute

The AERO program consists of online assessments and progress monitoring tools and over 200 lessons across three levels. The AERO program uses online assessments to create and implement individualized instructional plans that are delivered in small groups of students (two to three students at a time). The AERO program includes curriculum-based measures that help AERO Instructors know which skills to focus on during the sessions and monitor students' mastery of taught concepts to make instructional adjustments.

Aligning Tutoring Curriculum to School Curriculum

In this National Student Support Accelerator webinar, we will be discussing the ways in which your program’s tutoring curriculum can and should align with students' in-school curriculum. This alignment can be crucial to ensuring that students’ tutoring instruction prepares them for their in-classroom work, and that this instruction allows them to improve the skills they will use during their normal instruction times.
