Tutoring Organization

Middle School Tutor

Our tutors work one-on-one with fifth-, sixth-, seventh-, and eighth-grade students to help with homework completion at Buford Middle School and Walker Upper School. The tutors mainly motivate and encourage while also answering some questions regarding homework assignments.

Littera

Littera partners with schools and districts to design, deliver, monitor, and adjust data-driven high-impact tutoring programs that take their assessment data, schedules, and specific student populations into account. Littera dramatically simplifies the delivery of high-impact tutoring, providing schools and districts with experienced virtual tutors, a full-service Littera program management team, and Littera’s comprehensive online Tutoring Management System.

Literacy First

Literacy First tutors work with kindergarten, first-, second-, and third-grade students through daily one-on-one sessions designed to strengthen their early reading and comprehension skills. This program teaches students literacy skills in Spanish or English based on students' linguistic backgrounds and instructional settings.

Literacy Coalition of Palm Beach County

In partnership with the School District of Palm Beach County, volunteers are recruited and trained to provide tutoring in reading comprehension in selected 1st and 2nd grade classrooms within the School District. The goal is to have each student 50% closer to grade level at the end of the year than when they began the year. The 30 minute sessions have been designed by School District staff to supplement reading taught in the classroom.

Heggerty Phonemic Awareness

Phonemic awareness is the ability to understand that spoken words are made up of individual sounds called phonemes, and it's one of the best early predictors for reading success. We believe that explicit, systematic phonological and phonemic awareness instruction is the missing piece in classroom literacy instruction.

Hill Learning Center Reading Achievement Program

Hill Learning Center provides students and educators with the instruction, tools, and support they need to succeed in school, and in life. We serve students directly, and share the evidence based practices implemented in our school with educators everywhere via the Hill Learning System and educator professional development. Our signature program is HillRAP (Reading Achievement Program.) Hill Tutoring serves families with both individual tutoring and small-group classes that are built upon research, individualized instruction, and successful teaching techniques.
